Belle is a freelance director, inclusive theatre practitioner and co-artistic director of Concrete Youth.
Since graduating from The University of Hull in Drama and Theatre Practice in 2018 she has gone on to work for companies such as Hull Truck Theatre and Middle Child Theatre through a placement at the Regional Young Theatre Directors Scheme in 2020. She also is a co-founding member of Concrete Youth and has directed the shows at the company since 2019. Whilst also working as a facilitator for sensory workshops to support the education department. Belle has recently studied at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School for an MA in Drama Directing.
Belle wants to continue to aspire to make work that provides cultural provision for audiences who often don’t get the chance to go to the theatre. She will strive to maintain the quality of work to Concrete Youth’s audiences and advocate for change in the theatre to become an inclusive place, whether that is the theatre building itself or the work that is being made/programmed within them. She is immensely excited to work with practitioners, artists and researchers who share her belief that theatre for people with PMLD should be thought provoking, engaging, entertaining, accessible and Inclusive. In effort to create a space that is welcoming for audiences and artists alike, right from the rehearsal room to the stage.
